Philippines' Richest Henry Sy buys $26 million Private Jet for Duterte

MANILA – Chinese-Filipino business magnate, Henry Sy, who is the richest person in Philippines has surprised the President of Philippines Rodrigo Duterte with a Private Jet.

Henry Sy, who was born on a christmas day is reported to have promised Duterte a “huge” surprise should he [Duterte] becomes the president of the Philippines.

The investor and philanthropist billionaire paid $26M for the Bombardier Global Express XRS which operates on Rolls-Royce engines.

Henry Sy has a net worth of 13.2 billion USD according to Forbes’ report in 2016 and he is also involved in the industries of real estate, hospitality, banking, mining, education, and health care.

Duterte has expressed gratitute and appreciation for the gift and has since thanked Henry “for such a wonderful surprise.” “The nation thanks you. This is a jet for the Philippines. All officials are welcome to use” – Duterte added.
