Alleged Narco Leyte mayor surrenders after Duterte's shoot to kill order

After President Rodrigo Duterte imposed 24 hours deadline to surrender, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. was now under the custody of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa.

The mayor was allegedly involved in drug-trafficking and coddling.

According to ABS-CBN, Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said that Mayor Espinosa surrendered and met a 24-hour deadline.

His son, Kerwin Espinosa who's also involved in the illegal drug trade haven't yet surrendered.

Duterte ordered a 24 hours deadline for the both of them to surrender or else shoot on sight will be applied.

Recently, the bodyguards and staff of Mayor Espinosa were arrested in the buy-bust operation and recovered shabu worth of P1.9 million.
