DEATH SQUADS IN THE PHILIPPINES AND PRESIDENT DUTERTE

    Session: 2016-17

That this House condemns in the strongest terms the extra-judicial killings of drug users in the Philippines; expresses the deepest concern that the killings come as a result of newly inaugurated President, Rodrigo Duterte, telling citizens to form death squads and in his words to go ahead and kill drug addicts; considers that those with addictions deserve support to beat their addictions rather than punishment, and certainly not murder; and calls on the Government to make strong representations to President Duterte and express the alarm at which this development was met by hon. Members.

  2. He never told that to citizens to form death squads. In fact he denied involvement in death squads and extra-judicial killings.

  3. I guess the international community wants to see more dead women and children rather than get rid of the drug addicts.

  5. and how about the lives of the victims of those drug addicts, lives of those people who are not manace to the society but bread winners and help build the economy, where will the family go to take refuge>>> think of that if drugs cannot be controlled for the next 10 years or even 5 years , where will our young generations go when drug peedlers are not even afraid to sell even in school campuses, think of that? and answer it?
