DOTr Seriously Considering Installing Cable Cars From Caticlan To Boracay

To bring more tourists to Boracay and shorten the travel time as the agenda, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) is now considering installing cable cars from Caticlan to Boracay to cut travel time to reach the popular island.

This however will not render transportation ferry boats obsolete because the cable car will act as alternative to reach the island.

Good for those who has seasickness due to the boat trip but bad for those who has fear of heights.

“That’s the plan being studied,” Cherie Mercado DOTr spokesperson wrote in a text message, on the proposed cable car link. The DOTr plans to tap the French government to fund the feasibility study for the project.

At present, from Caticlan Airport, one has to take a take tricycle or a van to catch a boat from the jetty port then another ride which altogether would take more than an hour.
