Duterte Got Slammed By Bashers After No Foreign Aid Was Received For 'LAWIN' Victims! Find Out The Whole Story Here!
There have been no reports yet as to whether foreign help has arrived in the country in the wake of the recent super typhoon 'LAWIN' that brought destruction to so many places.
The detractors of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte attribute this to a theory that blames his ‘foul mouth’. The locals are also wondering why the other countries are not helping out when ‘Lawin’ was touted to be more dangerous and more destructive than ‘Yolanda’.
Despite LAWIN’s destructive nature, it only claimed 4 lives and injured 11 people whereas ‘Yolanda’ killed over 6,500 people, with 1,500 missing and thousands more harmed.
Despite LAWIN’s destructive nature, it only claimed 4 lives and injured 11 people whereas ‘Yolanda’ killed over 6,500 people, with 1,500 missing and thousands more harmed.
Thus, despite being equally destructive and powerful, LAWIN did not gain the same level of international attention as Yolanda.
Actually, the national government didn't really ask for foreign help from the international community since the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) assured people that foreign aid is not yet needed at this point because there are sufficient funds allotted for distribution to the affected areas.
“So far the local government units and national government still have enough relief supplies to be given to our communities,” said NDRRMC spokesperson Romina Marasigan on Dateline.
“We will be doing assessment so we will know exactly what type of aid we will be requesting from foreign counterparts.”

DSWD Sec. Judy M. Taguiwalo also said that the Philippines calling for foreign aid is not necessary as the new administration is transparent and people should trust that the funds will go straight to where it’s needed.
Sec. Taguiwalo said that it is time for Filipinos to adapt the change and to stand on our own feet instead of depending on the help extended by foreign governments.
