Former President Benigno Aquino III gave a warning shot to President Rodrigo Duterte before the latter assumed the position of chief executive, that he would fight should the man go for a dictatorship and throw away the freedom fought for by his martyred father.

The former president’s father, Ninoy, died in August 21, 1983 which triggered protests against the Marcos dictatorship and led to the EDSA People Power revolution.
Aquino cited the words of Duterte in his April 29 interview with GMA News, which he said brought back the memories of the country’s dark days. Duterte in that interview declared that he would abolish Congress if Senator Antonio Trillanes would carry out his plan to impeach him.

Duterte said: “Kapag natalo ka patay ka. Every revolution that succeeds, siya ang tigas. He now becomes the authority…Ako na ang Congress. Ako na ang Presidente.”
“He’s a lawyer but I’m not. But I studied the Constitution and I challenge everyone to look into the Constitution: where is the power of President to abolish Congress? He might abolish the Supreme Court next. But look for it, there is no such right,” said Aquino.
When Duterte proposed a revolutionary government, Aquino responded by saying that it would be like martial law, and at the same time, reminded him that his mother also had the same government, but the laws were approved first by the Filipinos.
“He’s a lawyer but I’m not. But I studied the Constitution and I challenge everyone to look into the Constitution: where is the power of President to abolish Congress? He might abolish the Supreme Court next. But look for it, there is no such right,” said Aquino.

“My mother mother didn’t exercise powerr all by herself. She immediately came up with the 1987 Constitution which was approved by 90 percent of Filipinos,” said Aquino. He said that while still president, several sectors raised their concerns about the country’s future should a man who had no respect for women and children sit as president.
He also said he was forced to apologize to the United States and Australia for the then campaigning Duterte’s remarks against the country’s allies. ReplyDeleteWhatever Aquino anu ba talaga nagawa nyo? Ang ilugmok ang bansa natin, ang turuan ang mga tao na abusuhin ang salitang freedom kaya maraming krimen ang nangyayari. Manahimik ka na natatakot ka lang na maungkat ang lihim nyo sa Luisita.

Meron man me gusto pa ilan lang at di mo n auli kami mauuto at maloloko.. Excuse me.. no to you before dahil di naman kita talaga kita ibinoto, sumunod na lang sige dahil ikaw ang pinili dati ng nakakarami.. pero pati mga yun mukang ayaw na din sayo.. dami lumala sa panunungkulan mo, ekonomiya oo na tumaas kasabay ng ano pag taas din ng dami ng addict at droga sa bansang ito.. no way di mo/nyo na maloloko ang mga tao... bka pag tumakbo si erap o aroyo bka mas manalo pa syo..

ReplyDeleteHoy noynoy tama na nga kabaklaan! MAgsasama kayo ni Delima at Trillanes sa bilibid malapit na! Nagbubulag bulagan kayong mga gago kayo, kasi supalpal kayong lahat dahil me matino, maayos at hindi corrupt na presidente na ang nagpapatakbo ng bansang Pilipinas. Lalabas din lahat ng baho at kawalanghiyaan ng mga Aquino, yun hacienda Luisita yun mga pinapatay nyong mga magsasaka, magbabayad kayo!
