President Duterte to meet Japan’s Emperor Akihito, PM Abe on October 25

President Rodrigo Duterte will meet the reigning Emperor of Japan Akihito and Prime Minister Shinzō Abe in his official visit to Japan on 25 to 27 October 2016.

“During his stay in Japan, the President will make a State Call on His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, will also hold a meeting with the President and host a dinner in his honor,” the Japanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

President Rodrigo Duterte catches the attention of the Japanese media because of his tough personality and many of them are interested to know more about President Duterte.

The Prime Minister of Japan also said to Duterte during their bilateral meeting that the President of the Philippines is like a ‘rockstar’ in Japan.

On one of it’s speeches, President Duterte thanked Japan for its aid to the Philippines. He also said that Japan helped the Philippines more than United Nations.

The official visit of President Duterte in Japan will help to improve the relationship of Japan-Philippines and it can also attract Japanese investors in PH.
