P1-M Bounty up for Ronnie Dayan

MANILA - A group of private individuals is offering P1 million for information on the whereabouts of Ronnie Dayan, the former security aide and alleged bagman of Senator Leila de Lima.

The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) and its legal counsel, Ferdinand Topacio, made the announcement Tuesday at a press conference in Quezon City where they showed the reward money.

Topacio said that not a single politician contributed to the reward money, which he said, was raised by "concerned citizens."

The VACC is in charge of receiving tips on Dayan's location while the reward money will be placed in the safekeeping of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), he added.

Dayan has not been seen in his residence in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan since President Duterte tagged him as De Lima's lover and alleged link to the drug lords detained at the New Bilibid Prison.

An arrest warrant was issued against Dayan after he failed to appear in a House inquiry on the alleged NBR drug ring.

The VACC, Topacio said, is set to put up "wanted" posters of Dayan after they coordinate with the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and establish a hotline number for tipsters.

De Lima admitted her past romantic affair with Dayan on Monday, but maintained that she never accepted drug payoffs.

The senator is facing multiple charges for her alleged drug ties, including a case filed by the VACC.
