Pimentel to Ombudsman: You Should Remove De Lima Instead of Villanueva!

The Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales has ordered Senator Joel Villanueva’s dismissal from service over his alleged involvement in a P10-million pork barrel scam.

But in response to that, Villanueva filed a motion for consideration which is the reason why Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III will not be booting him out. He said that the Ombudsman must first resolve the motion.

“I was informed that a motion for reconsideration was filed. Hence, the Ombudsman must act on that first before I act on the Ombudsman’s comm[unication] to me,”

Notwithstanding the Ombudsman’s resolution of Villanueva’s motion, Pimentel said he would refer the dismissal order against his colleague to the Senate rules committee.
