Buking! De Lima makes Bato admit it was Bong Go, not Digong, who called to free Marcos!

Sen. Leila de Lima yesterday made Police Chief Bato Dela Rosa admit that it was special presidential assistant Bong Go and not President Rodrigo Duterte who called him to lift the preventive suspension over Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Supt. Marvin Marcos.

In the Senate hearing, de Lima question Dela Rosa why he initially claimed that it was a “kumpare” who was “higher than him” who called him to suspend Marcos after the CIDG chief was tagged by alleged drug lord Kerwin Espinosa as a drug coddler.

De Lima pointed out that while President Rodrigo Duterte claimed that it was him who called Dela Rosa to release Marcos, Duterte’s reason was for a “cloak and dagger” mission to let Marcos lead them to his drug connections.

De Lima said Dela Rosa said that the one who called him cited humanitarian reasons for releasing Marcos. After several moves to evade the questions, Dela Rosa was forced to admit that it was indeed Go who called him.

Bato said Go told him: “Pre kauspain ka ni Presidente sa kaso ni Marcos. Kasama na sa pinagusapan namin your honor‎ (about the humanitarian reasons).” A few days after Marcos was reinstated, Marcos led a team of CIDG operatives w‎ho killed Espinosa’s father, Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa inside a Leyte sub provincial jail.
