Gusto ng ipatupad ni Presidente Duterte ang nabinbin na Reproductive Health Law sa bansa. Ayon sa Pangulo, lumulobo na ng husto ang populasyon sa Pilipinas at kailangan na itong kontrolin.

Ngunit, nilinaw ng Presidente na hindi siya pabor sa abortion o pagpapalaglag ng bata.

“Ang problema nga dito sa Pilipinas, we have breached also the [100] million [population], 105 [million] na tayo ngayon.

And if we just keep on [growing] just with these programs of government, we have to reduce the population.

Family planning. I'm not talking about abortion. I'm talking about family planning. Eh ayaw ng simbahan eh, so we are in a bind,” sabi ng Pangulo.

Ayon pa sa Presidente, ang pagkontrol sa populasyon ng bansa ay makakatulong sa pagsugpo sa kahirapan. Matatandaang naging maingay na kritiko ng Reproductive Health Law ang Simbahan Katoliko noong panukalang batas pa lang ito.
