Freddie Aguilar calls Conchita “pasikat at kalaban ng pagbabago”

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales recently declared that she will lead a probe on Philippine National Police Chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa’ all-expense-paid trip to Las Vegas Nevada to witness the boxing match of Senator Manny Pacquiao.

The senator himself paid for Bato’s trip.

People have reacted to this motion, deeming it “unnecessary”, and claiming that more cases should be given a higher priority than this.

Musician Freddie Aguilar joined in the protest and said on his Facebook wall that Carpio-Morales was only looking for fame, and is a hindrance to the process of achieving change in the country.

Politician Greco Belgica also criticized the Ombudsman saying that more cases should given attention, such as the unresolved cases of the DAP, PDAF and Yolanda funds.

Meanwhile, Dela Rosa says he welcomes any investigation on him. Under Republic Act 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, ““public officials and employees shall not solicit or accept, directly or indirectly, any gift, gratuity, favor, entertainment, loan or anything of monetary value from any person in the course of their official duties or in connection with any operation being regulated by, or any transaction which may be affected by the functions of their office.”
“Sige lang imbestigahan ako” he said.

Carpio-Morales has yet to respond as of writing.
