President Duterte Declares December 26 And January 2 As Holidays!!



President Rodrigo Duterte and his administration declared on Wednesday, December 26 and Monday, January 2 as special non-working days. According to Proclamation No. 117, signed by Acting Executive Secretary Menardo Guevarra, the declaration is intended to “give the people full opportunity to celebrate the holidays with their families and loved ones.”

December 25, Christmas Day, and January 1, New Year’s, both fall on Sundays. The proclamation also said that “a longer weekend promotes domestic tourism and enables employers to plan their work schedules effectively and efficiently, resulting in improved productivity.”
