"Just call me Pareng Rody:" Duterte wants soldiers to see him as their BFF
Monday, January 16, Speaking before members of the elite Army Special Forces unit in the wake of Capt. Clinton Capio at the Libingan ng mga Bayani mortuary in Taguig City., President Rodrigo Duterte said he can also be the best friend soldiers can talk to about their problems. He said soldiers can call him through Special Assistant to the President Christopher "Bong" Go if they have problems.
“Yung problema ninyo kasi maski gaano kabigat, hindi ako, hindi ko kayo ano… Maski gaano kabigat. Kung wala ng, tingnan mo na hindi ma-solve sa — tumawag kayo sa akin,” he said

“Sabihin mo lang na, ‘Pwede bang kausapin si Pareng Rody? May problema kami dito.’ Oo, Pareng Rody lang,” Duterte added.

Duterte assured the soldiers that the government will continue to provide their needs and ensure they live confortable lives since they are risking their lives for the country. “Relax lang and basta nandiyan ako.”
